Jay Leffew said "You have a rather naive way of putting words together, as though you aren't quite sure how to; it wasn't just 'the man' you repeated unnecessarily, and I wonder if you might have put the story aside for a couple of days and come back to it, then seen the slight incongruity of your text? Meg Malpass said "Really!!!!!! Was expecting something along the lines of Mrs. Bucket. (Sorry if you don't have the series "Keeping up appearances" in Australia. Like Diane I was confused by repetition of "the man". Was enjoying your character build up of the first man and his "ability to exude confidence" then WOW."

Diane Dickson Guest Editor said "This is a very peculiar story (I mean that in a complimentary way) the ending was so strange that it left me non-plussed. I would say though that there is an issue of repetitive words in here, the number of times that you referred to "the man" did mar my enjoyment somewhat - Very odd story indeed - thanks for this little trip to the outer reaches of sanity - Diane"
