If only I had a banana,
My life would be almost complete;
Bananas are things that I look for,
And not just for something to eat.
You can eat them because they’re so tasty,
Or keep them and use them for laughs;
You can peel them and slice them in pieces,
And use all the pieces for draughts.
You can manage things with a banana
That don’t work with an apple or pear -
You can bury them deep in your pocket,
And cause all the women to stare.
You can take them to work for your dinner,
And have lots of fun with the skin.
You can leave it around in the office,
Near the door when the boss is due in.

They’re curved, or at least they should be,
Fun and laughter and plenty of goodness -
All of this, and for just 30p!
If only I had a banana!
But alas! I don’t even have one -
I had a whole bunch here this morning,
But I’ve eaten them now, so they’re gone.
