Sarah Ann Hinkle
Published 1 year ago
The excitement of the publication of our first anthology has very much been overshadowed by the very sad news of the death of one of our writers, Sarah Ann Hinkle. Sarah, of Breckenridge, Texas, was killed in a car crash in Parker County on 22nd November. She was 31 years old.
Sarah’s story “Hi…my name is” was one of the twenty included in the first volume of the Short Breaks anthology. She had written six stories for Shortbread and had been a member for eight months. Her sister-in-law, Amy, wrote to us saying, “Sarah loved your website and was looking forward to the day that 'Short Breaks' came out, because it was the first book for her to be published in.”
Shortbread editor, Fiona Smith, said, “It has come as such a shock to us all. Sarah was always so sweet and personable on the site and in her emails to me.”
Sarah’s involvement with Shortbread will be sadly missed, and our deepest sympathy and thoughts go out to all her family and friends.
