For all those Shortbreaders who happen to live in the North of Scotland, this weekend marks the 7th year of Pitlochry's Winter Words Festival. This year features a variety of authors, wordsmiths and personalities including: Sally Magnusson, Louis de Bernières, Monty Halls, Dick Strawbridge, Phil Cool, John Lister-Kaye, Stephen Venables, James Robertson, Robert Penn,  and Robin Pilcher  who will be talking about his new book A Matter of Trust on Saturday 5th at 10.30am.

And if you fancy brushing up on your own creative writing skills, Shortbread authors Kenneth Steven and Rachel Marsh will be running Writers' Workshops throughout the festival.
