Shortbread Roadshow: Dundee
Published 1 year ago
This May we will be launching the first ever Shortbread Roadshow in conjunction with Literary Dundee. This intensive two day course will provide an informal combination of discussion, lecture and workshop, culminating in a finished and edited short story. The course focuses on giving the author tools to write, self-edit and prepare a piece for publication. Bring a short story you want to work on or start from scratch. This Shortbread weekend is open to writers of all levels, styles and genres.
The course will be taught by Rachel Marsh, who has been teaching creative writing in the US and the UK for over ten years. Rachel Marsh has an MLitt in Creative Writing from the University of St Andrews, and is the former editor for New Writing Dundee. She has written a number of academic articles and is a published short story author. More on Rachel Marsh can be found at marshrachel.wordpress.com.
Robin Pilcher will also be on hand to give a lunch time talk on the first day of the course. Author of short stories, novels and the creator of www.shortbreadstories.com, Robin will discuss the act of writing, the importance of editing, and how he balances the two.
We would love for all Shortbreaders to attend, and the weekend will be a brilliant opportunity to meet with like-minded people from the Shortbread community. If you are interested in attending please email Fiona Smith: fiona@shortbreadstories.com
